Dear Middletown Reformed Church Family and Friends,

Lenten blessings to you.

We have a wonderful and full day of worship this Sunday! Come a little early to wave palms with the kids and CC the donkey as we walk with Jesus into Jerusalem. Our New Jericho Choir will sing Prepare Ye/Hosanna for the Message for all ages. Tom will sing the Anthem “You Got Me.” I am preaching from Mark 11.1-11 and 14.3-9 — Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem and the woman anointing him in preparation for his burial — and my sermon title is Palms & Oil. As a way to honor Jesus’ statement regarding her anointing — Truly I tell you, wherever the good news is proclaimed in the whole world, what she has done will be told in remembrance of her — I will sing a Sermon-Prayer-Song “L’dor Vador” from the Siddur: Kedusha section of Amidah. After worship, come downstairs for coffee and conversation with your church family.

Don’t forget that this Sunday is the last day to get in your Easter flower order form and to bring in your Easter eggs filled with candy, toys, or whatever you wish for the children’s Easter egg hunt on the Great Lawn of the church on Easter Sunday.

I look forward to seeing you this Sunday as we finally arrive in Jerusalem with Jesus and to worshiping with you during Holy Week. I will write more about our worship offerings for Holy Week on Monday.

Into Jerusalem we go as we make our way toward the cross. But then . . .

In gratitude for the privilege of being your pastor and the holy call of loving you,

Pastor Trish
