Dear MRC Family,
Blessings to you, beloved of God, in this season of Ordinary Time
Every Sunday is wonderful at MRC, but this Sunday is going to be EXTRA wonderful! Let me tell you why —
First, it’s World Communion Sunday. We will come to the table of grace along with followers of Jesus around the globe, partaking of the bread of life and the cup of blessing.
Second, we have the privilege of welcoming back to MRC guest musicians Sarah Hanvey and Brian Kolins who will bless us with their talents.
Third, joy will be in God’s house as we confirm Dominick Caddle and Colin Russo as full members of MRC.
So come this Nineteenth Sunday after Pentecost at 10:30AM to worship with your church family. You already know most of the details thus I will just add I’m preaching from Exodus 14.5-7, 10-29 — the Israelites walking through the Red Sea to freedom — and my sermon title is Walking Between the Waters of Chaos & Death. After worship, come downstairs and enjoy coffee, snacks, and conversation with the beloved community.
Of note: Adult Education in Coventry House (the parsonage) on Wednesdays at 10AM & 6PM (note new evening time). Our topic is Your Questions, Answered and our question for this week is — If we truly believe that we are all made in the image of God and I am to love my neighbor as myself, how then can I love someone who is also made in the image of God who does so many things to hurt others and it seems that God is allowing such hurtful actions to continue?
Of note: Our Rummage Sale is happening now in the Education Building, and will happen tomorrow, Saturday, as well 9AM - 3PM. Come browse and enjoy coffee and snacks as you search for treasures!
Of note: Blessing of the Animals — ALL people and animals are truly welcome to come and worship God and give thanks for our glorious creation outside in our Mediation Garden next Sunday, October 11 at 10:30AM. Bring your beloved animal companion(s) to worship and receive a blessing. If your animal companion is not really up for being around a bunch of people and other critters, bring a photo for a blessing. Even very loved stuffed animals will be blessed!
Keep bothering and following Jesus, beloved
With gratitude for the privilege of being your pastor and the holy call of loving you,
Pastor Trish
