Dear MRC Family,
Pentecost blessings to you in this season of Ordinary Time
I am sitting in the Commons Room of Hope Church in Holland, MI writing to you. We have just finished the Conference celebrating 20 years of Room for All. It has been such a special time, visiting with old friends and meeting new ones, all fiercely committed to the full welcome, affirmation, and celebration of LGBTQ+ folks in the RCA. It has been wonderful, and I look forward to sharing all I’ve learned.
But more importantly, I am looking forward to being back in NJ and worshiping with you this Reformation/Reconciliation Sunday at 10:30AM. Tom is singing the Prelude “Testify to Love” and the Joyful Noise Adult Choir will sing the Anthem “This I Pray.” I am preaching from Hebrews 11.1-3, 8-16; 12.1-3 — a text that speaks to faith and witness: faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. What does that really mean? — and my sermon title is By Faith We . . . After worship, come downstairs for coffee and conversation with your church family.
Keep following and bothering Jesus, beloved. See you Sunday!
With gratitude for the privilege of being your pastor and the holy call of loving you,
Pastor Trish
