Dear MRC Family,

Pentecost blessings to you, beloved of God, in this season of Ordinary Time

Our last fruit of the Spirit for our Summer Sermon Series is Self-Control. Self-control — probably not our favorite topic to talk about. I mean, why bother? What’s it good for? Our culture certainly doesn’t support practicing self-control. It’s all about get whatever you want as fast as you can by any means necessary. Deferred gratification? What’s that?

Come this Eleventh Sunday after Pentecost to worship as we find out where the spiritual practice of the fruit of self-control ultimately begins and ends. Tom will lead us in our hymns and sing the Prelude “This Is the Day” and the Anthem “Be Still and Know.” I am preaching from 2 Peter 1.5-9 and my sermon title is Self-Control: What’s It Good For?

Of note: We now have 54 subscribers on our YouTube channel! Thank you! If you haven’t subscribed yet, it’s quite easy and FREE. Go to YouTube.com and in the search bar type in MRC: A Fabulous Church of Love. Our channel will load and in the middle of the page by our name you will see a box that says Subscribe. Click the box and follow the instructions and that’s it — you are a subscriber to our channel! Thank you for
subscribing so we can stream our worship live on a better social media platform in the fall.

I look forward to worshiping with you on Sunday at 10:30AM

Keep following and bothering Jesus, beloved.
