Dear MRC Family,

Pentecost blessings to you, beloved of God, in this season of Ordinary Time

Spirit, Spirit of gentleness, blow through the wilderness, calling and free; Spirit, Spirit of restlessness, stir me from placidness. Wind, Wind on the sea.

Our fruit of the Spirit this week for our Summer Sermon Series is Gentleness. As followers of Jesus, what can his life and ministry teach us about biblical gentleness? Is gentleness a sign of weakness? Jesus certainly didn’t take any guff. He stood his ground, especially against the religious authorities, met people where they were, and yes, even became exasperated when the disciples just didn’t get what he was trying to say to them. Was he gentle, as the world would describe it?

Come this Tenth Sunday after Pentecost to worship and we will explore Jesus’ gentleness together. Tom will lead us in our hymns and sing the Prelude “The Lord Will Provide” and the Anthem “Testify.” I am preaching from Matthew 11.28-30 and Ephesians 4.1-6 and my sermon title is The Strength of Gentleness. In addition, we will come to the table of welcome and grace and celebrate the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper as the united body of Christ.

Of note: Facebook is now deleting our live worship videos after 30 days, but if we get 50 subscribers to our YouTube channel, we can stream live from there. Right now, we have 42. To subscribe, it’s quite easy. Go to YouTube.com and in the search bar type in MRC: A Fabulous Church of Love. Our channel will load and in the middle of the page under our name you will see a box that says Subscribe. Click the box and that’s it — you are a subscriber to our channel! Thank you for subscribing so we can stream our worship live on a better social media platform.

I look forward to worshiping with you on Sunday at 10:30AM!

Keep following and bothering Jesus, beloved.

With gratitude for the privilege of being your pastor and the holy call of loving you,

Pastor Trish
