Dear Middletown Reformed Church Family and Friends,
Summer blessings to you!
Come and worship with your church family this last Sunday of Pride month, the Sixth Sunday after Pentecost, at 10:30 AM. Tom will lead us in our hymns and sing the Anthem “Always Do.” I am preaching from 1 John 3.1-7 and my sermon title is What Love! After worship, come downstairs to the Lower Auditorium for coffee and conversation with your church family before heading out to enjoy your summer
festivities.
Next Sunday we begin our summer sermon series Sermons of the People. For those who have already done so, thanks for sending in your ideas for sermon topics. And for those who haven’t, it’s not too late! You may still give me your thoughts on what you would like to hear preached up through this Sunday, June 30.
Lastly beloved, your prayers would be appreciated. On the evening of June 25, our church member Ralph Herrmann died peacefully in Riverview Hospital with his daughter Kathy by his side. I take comfort knowing Ralph is no longer suffering and is at peace in the presence of God. And I am grateful I was able to be a witness to the Holy, hold his hand, and pray him on to God that afternoon. I know his family would be
grateful for your prayers as they grieve his death. In sure and certain hope of the resurrection to eternal life, through our Lord Jesus Christ, we commend to Almighty God our brother Ralph. May he rest in peace and rise in glory.
I will see you on Sunday.
In gratitude for the privilege of being your pastor and the holy call of loving you,
Pastor Trish
