Dear MRC Family,
Epiphany blessings to you
Yes, beloved, due to the impending snowstorm and for the safety of all the Consistory has voted to worship on Zoom this Sunday. And they also voted to postpone our annual congregational meeting to next Sunday, February 1 because it’s so much better to be in person to learn how the Spirit has worked through us the past year than online. And then after the meeting next week, we will enjoy a
delicious brunch together, Lord willing and there’s no further storms! I will send out all the reports via email on Monday so you will have a week to read and review them and come with any questions you have.
So come and Zoom for worship this Sunday. I will open up the link at 10:15 AM so we have a chance to chat and check in. Nancy Coffin will be singing our hymns online as Tom is away on vacation. I am preaching from John 3.1-21 — Jesus and Nicodemus have a secret meeting at night. About what? — and my sermon title is Brand New Eyes. Expect a different kind of format for the sermon as I discovered something in my
sermon preparation/study that I want to share with you.
I encourage you to be safe by staying off the roads and let the sanitation workers do their important job. Check in on your neighbors through text, phone, and social media. And keep warm — if this storm is like anything they are predicting, it’s going to be a messy one.
Keep following and bothering Jesus. You are loved. You ARE Love.
With gratitude for the privilege of being your pastor and the holy call of loving you,
Pastor Trish
