Dear MRC Family,
Blessings to you, beloved of God, in this season of Ordinary Time
For those of us in New Jersey, I hope you have been enjoying these beautiful Autumn days. As I was feeding our chipmunks, squirrels, and deer last night, I spoke aloud, “Thank you God for the season of Autumn. The colors of the leaves, the waning light, the earthy smell of the woods — it’s one of the best things you created.” What did you give thanks to God for this week? The offering is purely God's; ours the awe and gratitude. (Steve Garnaas-Holmes)
Come to worship this Twenty-Second Sunday after Pentecost/Reformation Sunday at 10:30AM and share your thanksgiving with me! Tom will lead us in our hymns and sing the Prelude “Take Off Running” and the Joyful Noise Choir will sing the Anthem “God’s Peace.” Our New Jericho choir will give us a message of hope by singing a favorite song, “Imagine.” I am preaching from Matthew 22.34-40 — love God; love your neighbor, but how do we love people we may not even like? — and my sermon title is Not Just Any Kind of Love. After worship, come downstairs for coffee and conversation with your church family. If you are unable to be in person for worship, we will be streaming live on our YouTube channel, https://www.youtube.com/@mrcafabulouschurchoflove1611.
I look forward to being with you as we worship God this Sunday. Keep bothering and following Jesus, beloved.
With gratitude for the privilege of being your pastor and the holy call of loving you,
Pastor Trish
