Dear Middletown Reformed Church Family and Friends,
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you!
My goodness — Isn’t the summer just flying by? I can already detect the waning of light in the sky as the sun is getting lower.
I hope you will come Saturday, August 17 at 2 PM to the Education Building for our Paint & Sip Event. It is a wonderful opportunity to have some summer fun with your church family and get your creative spirit on. We will paint the remaining little wooden figurines that are to be affixed to the larger garden art in the Community Garden. All art supplies will be provided along with wine, non-alcoholic beverages, and nibbles. Adults and children are welcome!
And then on Sunday, we will get our worship spirit on! Our topic for the Sermons of the People summer series is asking for help, especially as we age. Tom will lead us in our hymns and sing the Anthem “You Are Our God.” I am preaching from 1 Corinthians 12.12-21, 26 and Galatians 6.2 and my sermon title is Bothering Jesus. Prepare yourselves for a little humor at the beginning of the sermon.
Of note: Please bring in your $25 gift card or a check made out to the Community Outreach Group for their Back to School Program by August 30. And also, bring in your items for Matt Zilinski and the troops no later than Tuesday, August 20. During the week you may leave the items on the front porch of the parsonage. We already have many donations! Thank you so much for your generosity, your support, and your love.
See you Sunday!
In gratitude for the privilege of being your pastor and the holy call of loving you,
Pastor Trish
