Dear Middletown Reformed Church Family and Friends,
Greetings of peace!
This Sunday I will be attending worship at the Community Church of Keyport (CCK) as their Classis supervisor in order to wish a fond farewell to Rev. Todd Buurstra. Rev. Buurstra has been serving as CCK’s Specialized Transitional Minister and he is now moving on to other ministry opportunities. Please join me in praying for CCK and their leaders as they continue to journey through this transitional time.
Even though I will not be with you physically this Eighteenth Sunday after Pentecost, I will be with you in spirit, praying for you as Elder Angela Hank once again brings the word, and Elder Lisa Leidecker and Deacon Jamie Zeller lead worship. Tom will lead us in our hymns and sing the Anthem “The God You Are.” Angela is preaching from Genesis 37.3-8, 17b-22, 26-34; 50.15-21 — Joseph, his coat, jealous brothers, Egypt, and forgiveness — and her sermon title is I Am So Jealous!
Of note: We are, once again, walking in the CROP Hunger Walk this year. We have a page where you can join the MRC team and make a donation at https://events.crophungerwalk.org/cropwalks/tricia-sheffield. Thank you for your generosity. We are called to love and feed one another!
May God’s grace and joy surround you always. You are loved!
In gratitude for the privilege of being your pastor and the holy call of loving you,
Pastor Trish
