Dear MRC Family,
Blessings to you, beloved of God, in this season of Ordinary Time
All are warmly and joyously welcome to worship this Twenty-First Sunday after Pentecost at 10:30AM! Tom will lead us in our hymns and sing the Prelude “I See It Now” and the Anthem “Grateful For.” I am preaching from Joshua 24.1-26 — a passage that includes a famous statement, but there’s some problems here in this story — and my sermon title is The Only Clear Line. Also, we will come to the Lord’s table of grace as we partake of the Bread of Life and the Cup of Blessing. Then after worship we will continue the feast of the Lord in the Education Building enjoying a delicious brunch prepared by our Kitchen Crew. If you are unable to be in person for worship, we will be streaming live on our YouTube channel, https://www.youtube.com/@mrcafabulouschurchoflove1611.
Of note: We are closing down our Community Garden tomorrow, October 17 @ 9AM. If you would like to help out, we would love to have you. We will have LOTS of green tomatoes to give out on Sunday, so be looking up some good recipes for them. My favorite: fried green tomatoes
Of note: The Red Bank Crop Walk is this Sunday at 2PM. You may donate online here or bring your check into church this Sunday. Thank you for helping to end food insecurity!
Of note: Adult Education in Coventry House (the parsonage) at 10AM (in person) & 6PM (on Zoom). Our question this week is, How do we reconcile predestination with free will in our lives? What a great question!
I look forward to being with you as we worship God this Sunday. Keep bothering and following Jesus.
With gratitude for the privilege of being your pastor and the holy call of loving you,
Pastor Trish
